Downtown Tucson

In recent years, a major push has been made by Tucson officials and developers to improve the downtown area. The largest project is a retail and community center called Rio Nuevo that has been a decade in the making.

Downtown Tucson is contained by 12th Street, I-10, Toole Avenue and the Union Pacific railroad tracks. Downtown is divided into three major zones: the Presidio District, Convention District and the Congress Street Arts and Entertainment District.

The largest building in Tucson, the UniSource Energy Tower, is located downtown and is 23 stories tall. Other downtown attractions include Hotel Congress, the Rialo Theatre, the Art Deco Fox Theatre and St. Augustine Cathedral.
